Twist and Tone

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-29 - 13:46:58

Good fun exercise ?!

In a bid to try and take my mind of being so darn hungry I thought I'd do a bit of exercise. Normally I turn up the stereo and dance around the living room (burns calories and its fun!) but this week I bought a twist and tone from Avon.

It really is good fun.

If you're not an exercise person, I really recommend it. I just turned on the telly and stood on it and twisted about for a bit whilst watching an episode of emerdale. Made me giggle a bit but you can definitely feel your waist and tummy muscels working.

And any calories burnt is going to help with my overall weightloss.

Are we nearly there yet?

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-29 - 13:05:59

Oh my gosh, I feel absolutely awful today. The headache hasn't got any better, if anything it might be getting worse and I am so hungry today !

I'm staying strong at the moment, by keeping myself busy and staying as far away from the kitchen as possible. I keep reminding myself why I want to do this.

But I really do feel awful. I'm even tempted to go to bed ... it's only day three ... I have about 200 days left of this !

I keep drinking the water ( and keep going to the loo too  ) but that isnt making any difference.

The other thing that I have noticed with these slim fast shakes is that they leave an awful taste in your mouth. But all the time, it doesnt seem to go away.

Do you get that with CD shakes?

I am going to beat this, determination and will power are on my side, but I've not felt this bad for a long while !

Rumble Rumble Rumble

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-28 - 16:51:49

I'm still hungry !

I know how these diets work: It's all the walking, to and from the toilet ! It's the increased exercise that does it !

A dfinite disadvantage of this slim fast diet is that you spend a lot of time thinking about when you are next going to get to eat. With the cambridge diet I guess you wouldnt have that, because you DONT eat.

I cant wait for my dinner this evening. My mind has been on food for the last couple of hours. I am trying to keep busy. And I am staying as far away from the kitchen as I can.

Rumbly in my tummy

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-28 - 09:51:56

I woke up hungry and with a headache this morning, I've had water and am about to have a cup of coffee (decaf) but I'm trying to wait a little while before having my shake.

I am still feeling positive and motivated, but the constant rumbling gets a tad annoying and I'm not used to that empty feeling yet.

I am feeling proud of myself for getting through my first day without any hiccups - I tend to be ever the realist / pesimist and give up very easily, can see the bad before its even begun which often causes my will to waver. But, I am trying to be a bit more optimistic this time.

Biting the Bullet ...

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-27 - 18:39:56

I still havent had a meeting with the Cambridge Diet counsellor and worried that my motivation to do something with run out, I had to start. So I am giving slim fast a go at the moment, two shakes and one meal, but no snacks ! I dont understand how you can lose weight if you follow the slim fast plan to the letter as it seems too many calories ?

Anyway, Day 1, has been good so far. I had a shake for breakfast and a shake for lunch and am about to put something on for dinner. I have had a terrible headache all day and have been running to the loo non stop. Everytime I have a drink I need a wee two minutes later. I had a cup of coffee at my mums house and had to pee three times in one hour ! But I have only just started to get hungry and I know that I need something to eat.

My mum had an enormous bar of chocolate in her fridge and I managed to not even smell a bit ! So feeling proud of myself.

Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good !

Eat, Eat, Eat!

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-16 - 14:00:17

All I have done today is eat!

I am stuck in some sort of self destruct cycle and I cant seem to get out of it!

I woke up this morning and had 2 slices of cold pizza and 2 double chocolate muffins followed by about 4 cups of coffee.

I have sat at the computer all day long, ignored the housework which needs to be done, climbed over mountains of washing.

It's awful ... it's lazy ... and I hate it ... but I cant seem to get that last little bit of motivation to actually do something. And the more I think about it, the worse I am!

Help!

Very Low Calorie Diets ?

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-14 - 14:17:06

I'm trying to do a little bit of leg work before jumping in head first and spending all my savings on some powdered soups! If it's going to work and it is worth it then I am more than happy to do it, but I wanted to ask a few questions first:

What is the difference between Lighter Life and Cambridge Diet ? The only difference I can see at the moment is that LL is about £60 each week and CD is about £30.

And then next of all, what is the difference between a slimfast shake and a LL or CD shake? They seem to have similar calories and nutrients etc. I know when you do the SF diet you have two meal replacements and then one "helathy balanced meal" but could you just knock off the meal and replace it with a shake or soup? Much cheaper option ... although you dont get the counselling side of things or the weigh in, you would have to do it all alone or with friends.

I am reading a lot of blogs on here, peoples experience with VLCD etc, but I would love to hear from any one who has any tips or stories they would like to share, just to help me decide what to do.

Thanks guys,

Jem.

A world of ideals

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-13 - 19:00:46

I am 5ft 6 and weigh in at approximately 17stone or 238lb (I cant give an exact because I am terrified of jumping on the scales!) so I need to lose a grand total of 7stone or 98lb to reach a bmi of 25 or below.

Women lose weight at an average of 2lb each week. Men, the lucky sods, at an average of 2.5lb each week. I'd like to think if I make a real effort I can lose 2.5lb a week too.

98lb at 2.5lb each week is 40 weeks or there abouts.

So, I will set myself a goal date of Saturday 20th October.

That night I will be hitting the town, hopefully in a rather skimpy number !!!

Jem.

You can find out your ideal weight here, but remember this is just a guide, not gospel, and the most important thing is that you are happy and feel good with yourself, no matter what your weight is !
