A world of ideals

by jemima_puddleduck @ 2007-01-13 - 19:00:46

I am 5ft 6 and weigh in at approximately 17stone or 238lb (I cant give an exact because I am terrified of jumping on the scales!) so I need to lose a grand total of 7stone or 98lb to reach a bmi of 25 or below.

Women lose weight at an average of 2lb each week. Men, the lucky sods, at an average of 2.5lb each week. I'd like to think if I make a real effort I can lose 2.5lb a week too.

98lb at 2.5lb each week is 40 weeks or there abouts.

So, I will set myself a goal date of Saturday 20th October.

That night I will be hitting the town, hopefully in a rather skimpy number !!!

Jem.

You can find out your ideal weight here, but remember this is just a guide, not gospel, and the most important thing is that you are happy and feel good with yourself, no matter what your weight is !

Where abouts are you Jools? I only ask cos my local CDC is on holiday and I cant get a consultation for over 2 weeks and I just wondered how much it costs roughly? I know you have three shakes/bars/briks each day, so 21 a week, but do you pay per shake or per week or all up front?

I dont know what to try? Have tried Weight Watchers, Slimming World, LA Weightloss (most success) GI, Matt Roberts and so on, but this time I want it to work.

I have food issues too; boredom, comfort, binging etc but I want my life back.

How much have you lost?

Good Luck to you.

Jem.

i started thinking about cambridge last november, rang the counsellor and everything, but stuff kept happening and i figured that i needed a clear run at it so to speak. there is only one counsellor near me - i'm in east yorkshire, she is half an hour away and doesn't seem to be as good as some - she didn't weigh or measure me for example. but she is very nice. i paid 32 pounds upfront for 2 weeks supply of soups and shakes only - i am doing sole source with my doctors supervision, next week i am going to get some bars as well for when i am out. i looked at lighter life, but its double the price, further away and apparently the shakes aren't as nice. i have dabbled with slimfast because i thought it would be more or less the same. but there isn't the variety and also they aren't as nice as cambridge either. i have done quite well up to now, this is my 8th day, i haven't eaten any food or cheated - despite working in our kebab shop all week because my husband is away!! i think the FACT i am not eating, or doing points or whatever is making it easier NOT to eat, if that makes sense. i've lost about a stone this week. which obviously i am pretty pleased with. and i am in ketosis too, which means, apparently, that i am burning fat. hth.
